A brooch mounted circular badge with the crowned royal monogram in the centre and an edge inscription FOR KING AND EMPIRE + SERVICES RENDERED +
Comments:
Awarded to all service personnel who sustained a wound in the course of the war. Although not a medal as such, it was comparable to the US Purple Heart. It was worn on the lapel in civilian dress. Each badge is numbered on the reverse.
