son of George and Edith Rampton of Heath End. Home address Hurst Farm, Herriard, Basingstoke.
Leonard was discharged from the army following a number of medical complaints including rheumatic fever, appendicitis and finally a valvular disease of the heart. He was discharged on 26/12/15 having served in locations in the UK. Indications are that he was serving with a cyclist battalion. Although he did not die in army service his name appears on both the Tadley and the Baughurst memorials.
